Firnas Private

An aviation fanatic

Flying made affordable

After the success of Sunnamusk, I wanted to start my next big dream – going into the aviation industry. I am a fanatic of commercial aviation and I love the fuel-burning smell of a Jet A-1! I love every minute of working in London City Airport where I became connected with the aviation industry. Many people are fanatics about sports of their choice but for as for people like me, its the aviation industry. It keeps me awake at night and keeps me going in times of difficulty. I love what I do and aim to bring affordable private flights to everyone.

Firnas Private takes inspiration from the 9th-century aviation pioneer and polymath, Abbas ibn Firnas. Over 1,000 years before the famous Wright Brothers took flight, this Muslim inventor and engineer, born and raised in Spain, is thought to be the first human to attempt flight. I confidently and proudly stand on the shoulders of this fellow European Muslim innovator, albeit twelve hundred years later or so! It’s an incredible thought and an important reminder that we, especially as Muslim entrepreneurs, are building on the legacies of those before us and leaving a legacy for those who are still to come.

Firnas Private was the focus in the hit documentary “How to start an airline” by Channel 4 where they showcased me chasing my dreams of owning and operating an airline.

The future of air travel

The airline industry is currently on the rise. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) published the following report about the advancements of air travel in the next 20 years:

  • In 2035, 7.2 billion passengers will travel by air. That’s 3.7 billion more than today.
  • Over 50% of this growth will be in the Asia Pacific.
  • In 2029, China will become the single largest market.
  • India will take over the UK to become the third-largest market in 2026.
  • 4 of the 5 fastest-growing markets will be from Asia.
  • The top 10 fastest-growing markets, by percentage, will all be from Africa.

My goal is to bring Firnas Private to as many people as I can internationally so everyone can experience affordable private travel.

Private flying

A new direction

After a few setbacks, it was time to re-think what direction I wanted my airlines to head towards. This is when we rebranded as Firnas Private, to lead towards affordable private travel.

If you ask a person who hasn’t experienced private flight for his opinion about this market, you will probably get a mix of comments about how expensive, luxurious and celebrity-packed it is. Although it may sometimes seem that way, the reality today is that the private air industry is cost-effective and flexible, the top two traits that make it so special.

Flying private is cheaper than many think. The world has evolved with the help of advanced technology and with the concept of a shared economy, some of these luxuries are becoming more and more affordable. On top of that, we as an establishment have a mission of making flying private more affordable for everyone irrespective of their financial background. This is what I passionately believe.

Firnas Private is complete with modern aircraft and a well-experienced crew, who can fly you to over 20,000 destinations worldwide. The interest in my airline is at an all-time high and has been featured in The Daily Mail, The Sun and The Sunday Times.
